クリスマスの食事会

きっとみんな賛成してくれると思うのですが、最高のクリスマスシーズンを迎える方法は、ごちそうを楽しむこと！今日は、ウェストロンドンの中心、ノッティングヒル（同名の映画で有名になりましたね）で開かれたクリスマスの食事会に招待してもらいました。外は凍てつくような寒さでしたが、室内はキャンドルの明かり照らされて心地よく、クリスマスの音楽が静かに流れ、会話はにぎやかでした。お肉、チーズ、ミンスパイ、ワインなど、ホームメイドの料理はおいしかったです。ロンドン中から知り合いが集まり、座っておしゃべりをして、乾杯して、クリスマスの季節を一緒にお迎えしました。

Christmas Meal

The perfect way to start any December and welcome in the festive season, most people would agree, is with a festive meal! I was invited to a Christmas meal in the heart of West London – Notting Hill (made famous by the film of the same name). Outside was frosty but inside was candlelit and cosy – Christmas music on low, and conversations loud. The food was delicious – a pre-set menu of homemade foods – meats, cheese, mince pies, and wine. Bringing people together from all over London, we sat, chatted, cheers’d and welcomed in the festive season in.

Thursday 8^th December

キングスレー・ウォルターズのスタジオ

今日は、親友キングスレー・ウォルターズのハックニーにあるスタジオを訪ねました。キングスレーとは何年も前に（もう8年になるかな？）Instagram で知り合い、すぐに意気投合！週に一度は会って、美術館やギャラリーを訪ね、芸術や創造性について一緒に考えてきたので、彼と会う時間はいつも特別です。特に今日は、彼が自分のクリエイティブ・スペースで過ごす様子を見ることができて最高です！紅茶を飲み、お互いの話をして、以前から計画していたとっておきの動画を撮影しました。それから新しい財布とストラップも手に入れました。

Kingsley Walters Studio

Today I went to visit my good friend Kingsley Walters at his studio in Hackney. Kinglsey and I met many years ago (has it been 8 years already?) on Instagram and we connected instantly! We met up once a week for years, visiting museums, galleries and exploring art and creativity together – so it’s always special when we catch up – and especially when I can see him in his creative space! I met up with him for a cup of tea, a catch up and to record a very special video I’d been planning with him. I also picked up a new wallet and lanyard.

Friday 9^th December

マミヤ RZ67

今日は、フォトグラファーの友人に会い、とても日本らしいモノ（マミヤ RZ67 ミディアムフォーマットカメラ）を持って、とても英国らしいモノ（私と建物のこと笑）を撮影してきました。フィルム写真って、とても美しくて、ゆったりとした時間が流れていますよね。その瞬間に宿る何かがあるというか。デジタル写真だと完璧になるまで何度でも撮影できますが、フィルム写真は不完全なものをキャプチャーしています。今日は、British Made オリジナルのセレモニーパンツを穿きました（British Made ありがとう‼）ブラックウォッチのタータンチェックで、晴れやかな気分になりました！セレモニーパンツには、フランスの美しいシューブランド Jacques Soloviere の茶色いスエードシューズを合わせました！（all film photos by Luke Fullalove）

Mamiya RZ67

Today I met up with my photographer friend, and we took something very Japanese (the Mamiya RZ67 medium format camera) and photographed very British things (me and lots of buildings haha). There’s something so beautiful and slow about film photography – something so of the moment – you capture the imperfect, unlike digital where you can shoot again and again until it’s right. Today I wore my ceremony trousers by British Made (thanks British Made!!) – the Black Watch tartan made me feel so festive! I paired the trousers with a pair of brown suede shoes by Jacques Soloviere – such a beautiful shoe brand from France! (all film photos by Luke Fullalove).

Tuesday 13^th December

チルターン・ストリート

チルターン・ストリートを知っていますか？メリルボーンにひっそりと佇むこの通りは、時代を超越した歴史的な雰囲気に包まれていて、いかにもイギリス（そしていかにもロンドン）といった場所です。ファッション系のお店、カフェ、小さなデリ、有名なレストラン（Chiltern Firehouse など）でにぎわい、午後のひとときを過ごすには最高です。私と友人は写真撮影に出かけていて、撮影後に体を温めたかったので、Grey Flannel に立ち寄り（バッグとキャップを手に入れたので、次回の日記で着るかもしれません！）、そこで働いているグラハムさんのポートレートを撮らせてもらいました。それから、チルターン・ストリートにあるデリに行き、コーヒーとミンスパイをいただきました。冬の撮影後の、完璧な防寒対策でした！

Chiltern Street

Have you ever heard of Chiltern street? Tucked away in Marylebone, this street has a timeless, historical atmosphere, one that feels so quintessentially British (and quintessentially London). Bustling with fashion shops, cafes, small delis and famous restaurants (hello Chiltern Firehouse), it’s a great place to while the afternoon away. Myself and my friend have been on a photoshoot and needed a post-shoot warm up – so we stopped by Grey Flannel (where I picked up a bag and cap – maybe I’ll wear them in next month’s diary!) where we met Graham who works there – I took a portrait of him – and then onto Chiltern Street Deli for some coffee and mince pies. The perfect post-shoot winter warming remedy!

Wednesday 14^th December

カントリーサイドスタイル

今週のロンドンは気温がぐっと下がり、街は霜と雪で覆われました。今日は幸いにも雪は溶けましたが、空気は冷たいままです。そこで今日は、とっても英国的でカントリーサイドなスタイルを選んでみました。このツイードのハウンドトゥース柄のコートはヴィンテージストアで20ポンドで買いました。リバーシブルな上、タイムレスに着られるので、まさに掘り出し物！このトラウザーズもお気に入りで、Allevol という日本とイギリスのフュージョンブランドのものなのですが、Brisbane Moss のコーデュロイを使っているのでとても柔らかくて暖かく、凍てつく季節にはぴったりです。そして、このレザー製クロスボディバッグは、今月はじめにキングスレー・ウォルターズに会いに行ったときに手に入れたもの。街で遊ぶのに必要なものは全て持ち歩ける、ちょうどいいサイズの小ぶりなバッグです！

The countryside look

This week, the temperature plummeted in London, covering the city in frost and snow – luckily today the snow had finally melted but still left the frosty air behind. I’d say my look today is VERY British – a countryside kind of look. This tweed dogtooth coat I got from a vintage store for £20 – it’s reversible and timeless – such a great find! The trousers are some of my favourites – they’re a Japanese British fusion of a brand called Allevol and using Brisbane Moss corduroy, so soft (you’d know if you’ve ever felt Brisbane Moss cord) and warm – perfect for this frosty winter season. When I visited Kingsley Walters earlier this month, I picked up this leather cross body bag – the perfect little bag to carry everything I need for a short city jaunt!

ロイヤルアカデミー

ロイヤルアカデミーは、世界中から人々が訪れるアイコニックな場所で、とても英国的な協会です。歴史的には、男性作家の作品がアカデミーの壁を彩ってきましたが、時代は変わり、現在は、1900年代のモダニズムアートの先駆者でありながら男性の陰に隠れていた女性作家に焦点を当てた、女性作家のみの展覧会が開催されています。このような力強いメッセージが込められた展覧会をロイヤルアカデミーで鑑賞できるのを本当に楽しみにしていました。その期待は裏切られませんでしたよ！力強く、色鮮やかで、情熱的なモダニズムの展示は、女性作家たちを確かに称えるものでした！

Royal Academy

The Royal Academy is iconic, a place people visit from all over the world – a very British institution. Historically, male artists have often adorned their walls – but times are changing and currently there’s an all-woman exhibition highlighting female artists who trailblazed modernist art throughout the 1900s – but who were all overshadowed by their male counterparts. So, with such a powerful message – I was of course really looking forward to exploring this exhibition at the RA – and it didn’t disappoint! Such a powerful, colourful and passionate display of Modernism and a celebration of these artists!
